Cold Morning

The night quivered with the revelation of passion,
beneath the scarce raised lashes of your eyes.
And sighing lightly, the cinders began to sputter in the dying fire,
Struck by the sudden chilliness of the room…

All night the thunderstorm threatened, to turn the whole world upside down.
All night we tried to warm up, a love gone cold.
